The Hot List: 7/18-7/22

HOT SONG
: Tie- MARY J. BLIGE "Da MVP"/"I’mA Hustla Remix". New York native Mary J. is back with not one, but two hot bangers for the summer. While both might seem like remixes of previous songs, they are distinctly Mary J. Blige. Da MVP uses the spring hit "Hate it or love it" by West Coast rapper The Game as a hook.

The song, a ride down memory lane of MJ's career has become one of the hottest hits of the summer. Queens rapper 50-Cent is there too and the song was produced by Dr. Dre. "I'mA Hustla Remix" has a similar feel, featuring Rapper Cassidy--who scored a hit with the original using Jay-Z samples from "Dirt off your shoulder".

HOT EATING: DALLAS BBQ. Since this is my first hot list, I have to add this reliable spot. Ironically named "Dallas" BBQ and not "New York" BBQ, this place is typically more popular with the urban crowd. But everyone can agree when you're in the mood for greasy wings (made fried, spicy or sticky sweet) or a full rack of tangy ribs for next to nothing, this is the place to go.

The menu doesn't change very often and the food can get a bit tiresome after a steady diet of it, but Dallas BBQ's real appeal is it's potent drink menu. The combinations are lethal and one is really all you need--especially if you partake in the "Texas" size. They like it big in Texas!

My recommendation, if you want a drink that'll take you through a long friday night of partying, go for the Chronic Tea and make sure you get the shot of Hypntiq.

HOT MOVIE: BATMAN BEGINS. Almost 20 years ago Tim Burton released "Batman" starring Michael Keaton and batmania swept the country. Since then we've had a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman, a Val Kilmer Batman, a George Clooney Batman and even a Halle Berry Catwoman. Just when you thought there wasn't anywhere left to go, Momento director Christopher Nolan gives us Christian Bale as the ultimate Batman.

Moody and epic, this is the film real Batman fans have waited for. Yes, Spiderman and The Fantastic Four both take place is New York, but Gotham City is based on New York, so it counts.
