Bush Popularity Hits New Low In New York

George W. Bush isn't doing great when it comes to the Empire State. A statewide poll out today finds President Bush's job approval rating at an all-time low in New York, with just 29 percent of New York voters giving him favorable marks.

The Quinnipiac University poll found 67 percent of those polled disapproved of how the Republican president was handling his job. The president's all-time high approval rating in heavily Democratic New York state was 82 percent in a poll conducted two months after the September eleventh, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
Democrats outnumber Republicans five-to-three in the state. Bush's approval rating among New York Republicans was at 61 percent in the new poll while it was at nine percent with Democrats.
