Grand Ole Opry Heads North To NYC

The Grand Ole Opry will make a rare move to New York for a one-off show at the city's Carnegie Hall.

The Nov. 14 event will feature performances by Trace Adkins, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss + Union Station, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, Ricky Skaggs, Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood.

The Gotham event is part of the Opry's 80th anniversary celebration and comes just one day prior to the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, to be held at New York's Madison Square Garden. The full Opry cast first appeared at Carnegie Hall in 1961.

Tickets for the show go on sale Monday (Sept. 19) through the venue's box office (CarnegieHall.org or 212-247-7800). In other news, the lineup for "Country Reaches Out: An Opry Benefit for the American Red Cross" has grown to include LeAnn Rimes and Terri Clark.

As previously reported, the Sept. 27 show at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House will also feature Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, Alison Krauss, Marty Stuart, Porter Wagoner, Craig Morgan, Julie Roberts, Riders In The Sky, Jimmy Dickens, Jimmy C. Newman and Billy Currington.

The concert will be broadcast live and commercial-free on Great American Country and other cable/satellite channels, as well as 650 WSM AM, Sirius Satellite Radio and Opry.com.
